Welcome

Welcome to the Life Class web site.

The goal is to enlighten you a little or set you on a path toward enlightenment or at least not away from it.

For repeat visits please see the update page

Note that an intrinsic guide to the updates now appears on relevant pages. In the title block, if there is no number, it is one of the original pages when I launched the site. If it has one or more numbers then those numbers relate to the updates which can be dated from the update page or roughly guessed at by the number,eg. 100 means it is more recent than 65.

This site is dedicated to Charles Darwin and Buddha, two humans whose dedication and love for truth has brought me inspiration

Life-class has been serving the world community on the web since April 2005 advocating a belief system called Buddho-Darwinism.

It is a proposal to resolve differences between religions and also to expand scientific thinking to imagine the unmeasurable, (where Lord Kelvin said “What you cannot measure you know nothing about”) Eg. In physics Dark Matter is proposed from theory though not measured.
The site tells of incidents in my life before and after "enlightenment", in the hope others can learn from it and avoid mistakes.

It reasons out incidents before and after the event too.

It examines modern malaises and politics.

It looks at the propositions of Darwin and Buddha.

It examines life-style issues which could be adopted by those seeking an understanding that is different from that of the the past and present, namely Buddho-Darwinism.

The site is intended to lead sentient people to a more thoughtful and compassionate approach to the living world and to perhaps gently inspire thoughts of spiritual matters without detracting from science or needs, the latter of which come from deep within our genetic make-up and are the reason we are here.
At this site, you will discover things you may not have been aware of. At worst some you may find offensive, some twisted, but it is my sincere wish that you understand that we can all find offense in things but must learn to let go of most, if not all of them, in order to live better lives and allow others to do the same.

Just to kick off understanding, on quite a number of pages you will find thoughts turning to defence of what many consider immoral eg prostitution. This is not because Buddhism is immoral, nor because, in this example, prostitution is an ideal method of survival as Darwin describes. It is because many other religions and societies attack such lifestyles and it is important to be compassionate with those who seem at odds with what you think is right, if you want to understand Buddho-Darwinism.

Feel free to browse around this site.

Thanks for visiting and I look forward to serving you. Please note that at the present moment this site is freely available to all.

THE ULTIMATE AIM OF THE WEB-SITE IS TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH A CONCEPT I HAVE CALLED BUDDHO-DARWINISM.

THIS CONCEPT IS THAT ALL MORAL OPINIONS AND ALL RELIGIOUS THINKING AND ALL SCIENCE METHOD EVEN, CAN BE FOUND BETWEEN THE WRITINGS BY AND DERIVED FROM THESE TWO HUMAN GIANTS OF INTELLECT, BUDDHA AND DARWIN.

To imagine yourself comfortable for a start, think of Steve Irwin, the Australian zoologist, sitting on a bench between the two, Buddha and Darwin. There was a man who mixed compassion for all life on earth with the science of evolution. Sit on that bench in your imagination, like Steve, and imagine listening to the discussion.

When reading this site you may find many references to incidents in Copenhagen in 1977. These eventually led me to study science (engineering) in order to look coldly and rationally without requiring subjective or personal decisions, because those incidents and what followed in the years after had made feel inadequate as a decision maker. The thrusting rationality or cold logic of some of my analyses in this web-site might not be to your liking if you are an artistic type. I would therefore recommend, as an introduction to art and Buddhism in the modern context a look at the site dedicated to the memory of the Canadian artist Jack Wise

Some basic principles of Buddho-Darwinism are on the “Fundamental Principles” page but I believe you may find them easier to take on board if you browse some of the pages of the web-site first.

Now try this site.
